Kenworthy’s Chambers 2026 Legal 500 Criminal Law Rankings

The Legal 500 recognised Kenworthy’s Chambers as a set in Criminal Law, with a record-equaling ten of our Member Barristers achieving rankings!

Congratulations to Silk Door Tenants Martin McCarthy KC and Andrew Selby KC, Barry Grennan, Patrick Cassidy, David Morton, Waheed Baber, Sara Haque, Chudi Grant, Stephen Tettey, and John Richards, who were all ranked in the field of Crime (general and fraud) in the 2025 Legal 500.

Martin McCarthy KC

Martin McCarthy KC (door tenant) was described by Legal 500 as “A skilful and charismatic jury advocate with a brilliant forensic mind. Martin cuts to the chase in his cases, identifies the key issues and puts his clients first and foremost. He is a very good strategist and particularly adept at choosing his legal arguments.”

The Silk was also ranked in Legal 500’s category for Fraud.

Andrew Selby KC

Barry Grennan

Congratulations to Head of Chambers Barry Grennan for maintaining his Tier 1 ranking with the Legal 500.

The world-famous legal directory states that “Kenworthy’s Chambers is home to Barry Grennan, who specialises in criminal defence, especially in cases arising from gangland murders, fire offences, and drug conspiracies.”

Patrick Cassidy

Patrick Cassidy is recognised by legal directories for his work in Professional Discipline, Inquests and Inquiries, on top of his work in Crime as a premier Defence Advocate.

Legal 500 described him, saying, “Patrick Cassidy is another strong criminal defence practitioner” to call Kenworthy’s Chambers home.

David Morton
