Kenworthy's Chambers are over the moon to announce that the
most recent Legal 500 rankings have recognised a record breaking eight of our
teams!
We achieved a Chambers' best with 19 of our talented Member

news pieces ‘Kenworthy’s Chambers Immigration Team Ranked Top by Legal 500 in 2024’, and ‘Kenworthy’s Chambers’ Criminal Law Team’s 2024 Legal 500 Rankings’.
Now we turn our attention to celebrating the testimonials
attributed to rest of our diverse team of expert Barristers across Costs,
Family
Law, Inquests
and Inquiries, Personal
Injury, and Professional
Disciplinary Law.
Costs
Kenworthy’s Chambers Head of Costs Margaret
McDonald is renowned for her prowess in fact-heavy costs cases, her level
of preparation, and her attention to detail. She provides advice on all aspects
of costs, drafts Points of Dispute, Points of Reply, Joint Statements and
Skeleton Arguments. In this year’s Legal 500, they said, “Margaret McDonald is
a highly regarded advocate who can always be relied upon to fight any case and
is always thoroughly prepared.” Congratulations Margaret!
We also offer our congratulations to fellow Costs Barrister John
Meehan, of whom it was said, “John Meehan has remarkable knowledge of and
expertise in all aspects of costs matters, and he is extremely intelligent. He
provides expert advice, and he has a formidable reputation as an advocate,
always conducting himself with panache.”
Family Law
Sarah
Johnson was recognised within the field of Family Law. The legal directory
said, “Sarah Johnson offers robust and straight forward advice, she is
empathetic to vulnerable clients, and she achieves favourable outcomes for
them. She has always done her preparation and knows the case in depth.”
They also had plaudits to offer our experienced Private Law
Advocate Paul Im
Thurn, whose practice spans children, divorce, and family finance. Legal
500 said, “Paul Im Thurn is very knowledgeable about the cases he works on. He
always provides great advice and is a strong advocate, and he is very much a
go-to barrister.”
Inquests and Inquiries
Our Deputy Head of Chambers, Patrick
Cassidy is an expert in Inquests and Inquiries, Criminal Law, and
Professional Discipline, and the Legal 500 has once again recognised him in
each Practice Area. Speaking about his Inquests and Inquiries practice, they
said, “Patrick Cassidy is unflappable and a hugely reassuring presence to his
clients.”
Personal Injury
Kenworthy’s Chambers is delighted to have our Personal
Injury practice acknowledged by the world-leading legal directory. Practice
Manager Maria Rushworth said, “Congratulations to Haroon
Rashid.
“Haroon has been hard at work putting his industry knowledge
to use delivering a series of Personal Injury seminars for free, as CPD
training for Personal Injury Lawyers, so it is rewarding to see him recognised
as a Leading Junior by Legal 500."
Professional Discipline
Lastly, we have Patrick Cassidy, awarded the label ‘Leading
Junior’ by the Legal 500 in his third and final category – Professional
Disciplinary Law.
Patrick’s interest in Professional Disciplinary Law started
when representing professionals such as Teachers, Nurses, and Train Guards in
gross negligence manslaughter cases. It was in taking on these types of cases
that he realised how work environments can expose individual professionals to
the full force of the law. He then made it his mission to use his wealth of
experience to help protect the reputation of individuals working as Doctors,
Headteachers and Deputies, Senior Social Workers, and Nurses who have been
summoned to appear before disciplinary bodies.
