We are pleased to announce that Criminal Barrister William
Donnelly has decided to come out of retirement to work part-time in Criminal
Law on the Northern Circuit.
Bill’s ‘un-retirement’ comes after we reported the news that
William
Donnelly and John Marsh Retire After a Lifetime in Law.
His decision was met with much surprise and excitement at
Kenworthy’s Chambers, especially in the Criminal Law team!
Legal 500 ‘Leading Junior’ Denise Fitzpatrick said, “Welcome
back Bill! Has he missed us that much?”
Meanwhile, Alison Mather contributed saying, “Excellent news.
It will be great to have him back.”
William Donnelly was called to the Bar in 1981. He prosecuted on large-scale
drug supply and drug conspiracy cases for numerous years and famously worked on
Operation Waddington and Operation Redbud – huge cases centered on drugs, firearms,
and proceeds of crime.
Speaking about how he will fit back into the Criminal Law
team, Practice Manager Maria Rushworth said, “Bill has built strong
relationships with our Clerks and Members of Chambers, so I’m sure his return
will be seamless.
“I’ve said before that nothing is ever too much trouble for
him. As he is always so helpful, William Donnelly is a great Barrister to have
in your team.
Fellow part-time Barrister Roger Brown agreed adding, “Just what
we as Chambers need!”
