Kenworthy’s Immigration Barristers Deliver External Training

Jack Dingley | October 29, 2025
Jonathan Greer and Jack Dingley provided Veritas Solicitors and the Manuel Bravo Project with training, showcasing their expert knowledge in Immigration Law.

Immigration expert Jonathan Greer teamed up with newly qualified Barrister Jack Dingley to provide Veritas Solicitors with bespoke Immigration Law training.

Veritas Solicitors Training

The bespoke course provided up-to-date information on the practice direction of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the First-tier tribunal, examining the guiding principles, the appeals process, evidence, written submissions, hearings, and procedural decision-making.

The knowledgeable duo quizzed the trainees in attendance on how they would handle a fictional case they had prepared materials for, looking at a witness statement, a letter of instruction to an expert witness, and a reasons-for-refusal letter.

Manuel Bravo Project Training

Following on from the success at Veritas Solicitors, Immigration Barrister Jack Dingley was requested to provide the charity Manuel Bravo Project with training on advocacy and the asylum tribunal process.

He delivered a bespoke course for the charity on Wednesday, 24th September, that covered what to expect before, during, and after a hearing.

He explained the difference between written and oral advocacy, presented the basic structure of Appeal Skeleton Arguments (ASAs), and provided his personal tips for writing ASAs before the hearing. Attendees were then tasked with taking an example refusal letter and considering the likely grounds of appeal, the issues in dispute, and how to structure the ASA in response. Jack also provided a useful timetable for what to do when arriving at court before your hearing begins.

Part two of the training reviewed what to expect at hearings. Jack Dingley covered the evidence in chief, cross-examination, re-examination, and submissions. He explained when to intervene during cross-examinations, the warning signs of a poor court interpreter, and how to address this issue. Trainees were then asked when and why they would intervene in a case study, provided by Jack. Following this, Jack imparted expert knowledge by providing tips on re-examination and closing speeches.

Part three of the training detailed what will occur after hearings. Principally, decisions, onward appeals to the Upper Tribunal, and costs.
