Trial Preparation 2025
We are pleased to announce Civil Litigation and Personal Injury Barrister Peter Quegan is back to present his popular Personal Injury seminar: ‘Trial Preparation’.
‘Trial Preparation’ is an online seminar that will take place on Tuesday 10/06/2025 from 4pm – 5:30pm. Reserve your spot for free by completing the form at the bottom of the page.
Who is this seminar for?
This seminar is aimed at Personal Injury Solicitors and Civil Litigators and is suitable for all levels of fee earners who are involved in case preparation.
With over three decades of experience in Personal Injury, Peter Quegan has a wealth of knowledge about trial preparation. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about how to improve their trial preparation following the completion of this presentation.
What does this seminar cover?
In this free ‘Trial Preparation’ seminar, Peter Quegan will take you through the best-practice approach to litigation, preparation, and fraud issues.
Civil Litigators should consider the trial from the beginning of their preparations. Holding a conference with counsel five to six weeks prior to trial, or as early as possible, can be extremely useful in recognising potential problems.
Conferences can also be used as an opportunity to narrow the issues by agreeing on quantum or liability. Scheduling joint settlement meetings early on in proceedings can bring focus to the case, helping to narrow issues, agree on costs, and provide more control over the trial.
The seminar will reveal the most common problems that occur in court. Peter will explore how to mitigate these common problems by considering a full statement as early as possible, playing the devil’s advocate, and getting the client to review and comment upon the defence or opposing witness statements.
Personal Injury and Civil Litigation Expert Peter Quegan will discuss ‘manoeuvrism’, taking the right instructions, and how to use each stage in the proceedings to your best advantage. We hope that Litigators will leave this training with a brand-new way of seeing the journey, from taking first instructions to winning trials.
Plus:
- Trial checklist.
- Witness preparation checklist.
- How to reassure clients.
- Tactics for undermining opponent's will to fight.
- How to prepare good draft directions.
- Best practice for gathering evidence.
About the Speaker
Peter Quegan spent 15 years as a Solicitor handling fatal and serious Personal Injury cases. Since coming to the Bar, his Personal Injury expertise has broadened to include public, occupiers, and employers’ liability.
Peter is the perfect host for Kenworthy’s ‘Trial Preparation’ seminar because he is familiar with the pain points Civil Litigators and Personal Injury Practitioners experience whilst preparing for trials. Whether it be counsel failing to deal with the central point of instructions, or failing to get the costs you hope for, or the pressures of juggling multiple deadlines at once, Peter understands what it is like and has expert advice on hand.
Please be advised that the last day to register for the ‘Trial Preparation’ seminar is 09/06/2025 and invites to this virtual seminar will be sent via email on 10/06/2025.
