During her Graduate Diploma in Law and Bar exams, Shysta was awarded the Sir Thomas Moore Scholarship from the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn. She was awarded a distinction for outstanding results in the Diploma in Law. In addition she obtained a distinction in a Diploma in Islamic Cultural Studies and Urdu.
Within her practice, Shysta specialises in Personal Injury and Civil Litigation. She is also one of the few barristers in the country to advise on Islamic Banking and Finance. Shysta has a growing international client base and is licensed to accept instructions for advocacy work in the English Courts. In 2010 Shysta was the only barrister from Manchester selected to join the Bar Council's International Business Development Mission to Abu Dhabi, Oman and Qatar.
Shysta is fluent in Punjabi and Urdu and has intermediate (ILR-2) level Arabic. She is happy to conduct conferences in these languages.

Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence
Shysta's legal practice includes contract and insurance work. Her personal injury practice includes acting for both claimants and defendants including employers and public liability, holiday claims, MIB and LVI. She also deals with complex road traffic claims involving multi-accident and causation issues.
Shysta has been instructed on a wide range of serious civil fraud matters in personal injury where she has successfully acted on behalf of claimants in allegations of fraud including "phantom passenger", "stooge vehicle", malingering and staged accidents.
She is instructed on a broad range of multi-track litigation including instructions on multi-party fraud claims and credit hire.
Shysta regularly advises on complex and high value quantum claims including catastrophic injury and fatal accident cases. Her practice also encompasses pleading high value schedules covering complex loss of earnings and care claims.
