Criminal Law
Katie Lord's specialist area of practice is Criminal Law. She can be instructed in the full spectrum of criminal offences in the Crown Court, Magistrates' Court, and Youth Court, including sexual offences, drug offences, and serious violence.
Katie Lord was formerly a Senior Crown Prosecutor at the CPS, managing large caseloads from July 2021 to October 2025. Alongside her role as a reviewing lawyer, she regularly prosecuted as an advocate across the Youth Court, Magistrates’ Court, and Crown Court.
Criminal Barrister Katie Lord has a first-rate reputation for meticulous case preparation and has received judicial praise in court for her helpful approach. She is developing her defence practice utilising her knowledge of and understanding of Crown Court procedure.
As a former Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Katie is used to working in a fast-paced environment with police investigation teams, victims, and families, often providing early investigative advice on complex cases.
